As a child‚ Holohan was inspired by stories of the grandfather he never knew‚ who was an FDNY battalion chief. With the FDNY‚ Holohan was respected as an experienced‚ knowledgeable firefighter who had a consummate trust in his colleagues. He was studying hard for the promotional exam for lieutenant. Holohan lived in Chester‚ N.Y.‚ with his wife and three children. In his spare time‚ he was an amateur beer maker who loved nature and enjoyed camping and fishing with his family at Cayuga Lake.
