A 32-year FDNY veteran‚ Crawford often talked about retiring but could never bring himself to do it. Off duty Crawford enjoyed tinkering in his workshop and fund-raising for the cancer hospital St. Rose’s Home. Crawford and his wife have five grown children‚ two of whom are police officers.
